@jrseal thank you for such an amazing surprise and such an amazing weekend. Being taken away for the weekend and knowing it was a surprise drive me absolutely insane but made me so happy. Then when you told me we’re going to Disneyland, my heart melted. You’ve known how badly I’ve been wanting to go back and how much I missed Disneyland and was sad that we wouldn’t be able to go until June. Then when you told me you got us tickets to see Parachute, I was shocked but happy. And being able to see my Nana too, since she was in town, meant so much. And being able to hang out with my cousin and her boyfriend today was so much fun! I love you so much sweetheart. You are so amazing to me. The love you have for me surpasses the love of characters like Allie and Noah in The Notebook. You absolutely and completely have every ounce of love I have to give. You are my bestfriend, the person I am most open with and most comfortable with. You are my boyfriend, the man I love with everything I have, everything I am, and everything I am yet to be. You are the man who has me heart and my soul. Every deep, dark corner of my heart and my soul. From the depths of my heart and soul to the light in my eyes when I look at you and see the man I’m going to marry, my whole future and my whole life right in front of me. Every person has “the one” and I’m blessed enough by God to be able to call you “the one” for me. I love you baby. So so very much. You are amazing. ❤

I never get tired of this photo.
Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of Ella’s biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, Ella tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life:
“I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt… she personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him – and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status – that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman – a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it.”
